If you don't use stamps, then you can't use it, because you don't use stamps.

If you do use stamps, you can't use it because it wouldn't make sense.

Stamps are a fun way to make a "statement" in your journal (if you have a subscription, it won't work for non-subscribers).

As a subscriber you can put the "Thumb" code of a deviation in your journal and it will then display the thumbnail for that deviation (for instance useful for doing "features", as in my journals^^).

Now, when you put the thumbcode of a "stamp" deviation, it will display the thumbnail of that stamp, which is the stamp itself :)

The whole "stamp thing" is something that has "grown" I guess, don't know the origins or how long it has been going on.
